Ponds and lakes

Ponds are basically brilliant.  They are relatively easy to create, generally require little management and wildlife moves in very quickly.  Ponds support an extraordinary two thirds of all freshwater species including frogs, toads, newts and diving beetles.  They also provide essential water for other wildlife such as birds and bats.

We will be adding more information to this page but for now take a look at the Freshwater Habitats Trust website which had loads of great information.

If you are only going to do one thing then why not create a small pond – and share your pics here!
