This was the first of many community wildlife webinars organised for the Wild About Devon initiative. In this webinar we were joined by two speakers, Jess Smallcombe from Devon Biodiversity Records Centre, and Tom Whitlock from Devon County Council’s Natural Environment Team.
Jess took us through the process of recording wildlife in our local area from finding and recording species to sharing your data, such as using the NBN atlas. Jess also explained how DBRC can offer support to your community group as you continue to take action for nature.
Tom’s talk focussed on mapping, showing you some of the resources that are currently widely available, MAGIC map and the Devon Environment Viewer. Tom took us through the process of using MAGIC map and the Environment Viewer step by step so that we can then use the information to support community action.
