Devon Wildlife Community of the Year Awards 2021/22

Communities right across the county are taking action to restore and improve habitats for our wildlife. There are some fantastic projects and initiatives popping up all over the place but if we’re to address the Ecological Emergency, we need more! To encourage more communities to take action and celebrate their efforts, we’re launching the Devon Wildlife Community of the Year Awards to celebrate those communities that are having a real impact in giving Devon’s wildlife a helping hand.

Whether it’s with a group of friends, at your school or with your Parish Council, tell us about your wonderful wildlife project by entering the competition.

How to enter

The entry form, judging criteria and (importantly) information on fabulous prizes will be posted on this site and our Facebook page (or Discussion Forum if up and running) in the autumn.   Parish and Town Councils who have joined our network will be informed directly.  Projects will have to show clear benefits for both communities and wildlife.  Entries are likely to be open until mid July 2022.

  1. Wildlife Community of the Year Award
  2. Parish and Town Council Wildlife Award  – open to all P&TCs who are members of the Wild about Devon P&TC Network.

We are considering including a schools / youth award – this will be clarified when further details are announced in the autumn.

A judging panel of Local Nature Partnership Board members will assess the entries against the criteria.

The winners will be announced at the Wildlife Community of the Year Awards being held in Devon in Autumn 2022 (date to be confirmed).
